Bernard Von NotHaus, Founder of NORFED and Liberty Dollar, Found Guilty on 4 Counts & Called Domestic Terrorist

from the DOJ news release

“Attempts to undermine the legitimate currency of this country are simply a unique form of domestic terrorism,” U.S. Attorney Tompkins said in announcing the verdict. “While these forms of anti-government activities do not involve violence, they are every bit as insidious and represent a clear and present danger to the economic stability of this country,” she added. “We are determined to meet these threats through infiltration, disruption, and dismantling of organizations which seek to challenge the legitimacy of our democratic form of government.”

June 2009: Feds Take $9M in Precious Medals and Arrest von NotHaus

As the press release puts it, all four defendants are charged with “conspiracy and other charges in connection with an alleged unlawful operation to publish, possess and sell for profit, coins in resemblance and similitude to U.S. coins. All four defendants are also charged in the alleged conspiracy with uttering and passing, and attempting to utter and pass, a coin of silver in resemblance of genuine coins of the United States in the denominations of five dollars and greater, and intended for use as current money.”

Oh sure, we are likely to mistake an ounce of silver for the tin junk uttered and passed by the US Mint. The actual charge the feds care about is at the end, that the Liberty Dollar is “intended for use as current money,” in direct competition with the state. Should someone be allowed to mint whatever he wants, charge whatever he wants, and try to pass it as money? Of course, so long as no fraud is involved (fraud being a government monopoly).

Liberty Dollar Trial News

Reported by Heather Lewis

http://www.liberty4free.com/Liberty%20Dollar%20Trial.htm

Quick Analysis of First 2 Days of Heather's Blogging:

1) 1.5 million documents in prosecution's discovery, which they admit do not all pertain to the case--clearly an abuse of process

2) Fbi agent investigating the Liberty Dollar Association(s) requested that the US Mint issue a warning as part of his investigation. The warning was the DoJ's position, not the US Mint's, which never offers a legal opinion on medal?!? If someone uses medal (gold, silver, platinum, copper) to make a medallion, for instance, and wants to know ahead of time if they will violate any patent, law, etc, the US Mint will not reply. The person has to make the medallion and wait and see if they violated anything!!!

3) the US Mint warning was worded incorrectly. It referred to the Constitution stating, "Congress has exclusive rights... What the Constitution actually says is that "Congress has the power to....Which means the DoJ misstated the warning, as well.

4) The jury was repeatedly told by the judge that they must follow the law while considering the facts. In other words they were repeatedly told they had no nullification rights, which is also a gross violation of their constitutionally protected rights.

The Morning After Quantitative Easing

by Lew Rockwell

QE3 is playing with fire. Or with a third dose of meth. Or another bottle of Four Roses. Choose your metaphor. It is a bad and deeply dangerous policy, all built on the insane view that if you stimulate a zombie with enough fiat money, it will start to live and breathe on its own.
Reducing this even more, consider: If you drink enough, does your body start to generate its own liquor? The Fed and the government have hooked the American economy on a wicked drug. Our job is to drive the dealers from their seats of power.

Dismantling Corportacracy

1:00- 4:30pm on Sunday, March 27th, at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center. Tickets are $15 available at the box office, phone 641-472-2787 or online at http://www.FairfieldACC.com.  More details at http://www.IowansRallyforFreedom.org

Amidst all the upheavals going on in the world today the “Iowans Rally for Freedom” at the Sondheim Center asks the question: how best can we untangle the deeply embedded relationship of big business and big government?
Keynote speaker Sheriff Richard Mack won what is considered the most important decision to restrain Federal powers in the recent history in the Supreme Court. “Right now” he says “it is vital that we restore the Constitution as the greatest threat we face today is not terrorists; it is our own federal government.”

Also speaking by videoconference will be Barbara Loe Fisher, co founder and president of the National Vaccine Information Center.  She will speak on last month’s Supreme Court decision to give drug companies total liability protection for injuries and deaths caused by the government-mandated forced vaccination policy.

Should parents of vaccine injured children,  stand by and allow vaccine manufacturers to have complete immunity from prosecution?

The issues seems ripe for another Supreme Court challenge. Or perhaps a thorough overhaul of how the country governs itself. Clyde Cleveland, the author of Common Sense-Revisited and 2002 libertarian candidate for Iowa Governor, will review the current state of our government and how we can restore it to the Republic as originally envisioned by our Founding Fathers.
