Cabinet Level Department of Peace

Mon, 01/12/2009 - 16:05

"There is currently a bill before the U.S. House of Representatives (HR 808). This landmark measure will augment our current problem-solving options, providing practical, nonviolent solutions to the problems of domestic and international conflict.

Domestically, the Department of Peace will develop policies and allocate resources to effectively reduce the levels of domestic and gang violence, child abuse, and various other forms of societal discord."

Attorney General Nominee Eric Holder

Sun, 01/11/2009 - 20:12

According to Gun Rights Examiner author David Codrea, Obama's choice for Attorney General Eric Holder, opposes private gun ownership. Among other things Holder was one the co-signers of the Amicus Brief that tried to ban handguns in DC. More details are available here.

Ron Paul's pretty certain that behind the scenes at the G20 central bankers from all over the world, including Ben Bernanke were discussing an international currency. But as Dr. Paul points out, our Federal Reserve is not required by our own law to report to congress on the discussions. Too bad it takes a Russia Today reporter to ask the cogent, relevant questions the American people need to hear answers to.... answers from more than Ron Paul.

Conscientious Objector or Borg Member?

Tue, 12/09/2008 - 23:57

Camillo "Mac" Bica, Ph.D. pens some striking thoughts regarding warfare and inalienable human rights in his article "A Crisis of Conscience: Conscientious Objection, Law and Morality"

Excerpted:

Rod Dreher writes for the Dallas Morning News a suprisingly candid and sobering account of the GOP and what they missed in Dr. Paul.

Dreher, a self-proclaimed Huckabee fan, states, "The same GOP establishment that mocked and reviled Dr. Paul now lies shattered. Who believes in this Republican Party anymore? The party destroyed itself with its own unprincipled recklessness, both in foreign and fiscal policy. And it has ruined its reputation among the young - the most ardent of Dr. Paul's supporters, incidentally - who are far more likely to identify with the Democrats."

RIP: Posse Comitatus Act

Tue, 12/02/2008 - 00:01

The Washington Post is reporting that:
"The U.S. military expects to have 20,000 uniformed troops inside the United States by 2011 trained to help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe, according to Pentagon officials."

From my friend Joe:
Hmmmm, 20K troops to protect who???? Troops fresh from Iraq? The cops at least
don't yet have access to heavy artillery so they generally have to ask
questions before shooting. The military has no such training or inclination and
has no problems asking questions of corpses...

Is Your Ammo Properly Encoded?

Sun, 11/30/2008 - 17:21

Below is a note I received from a friend. If this goes through what is to ensure that the government uses ammo that is encoded as well? Now I know why some folks I know keep saying, "invest in lead."
============

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of
all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Steve:

The party blew it when it rejected the most conservative, most honest man
we've seen in decades - Ron Paul. He had real solutions.

A life-long Republican, I will be changing my affiliation to
'Independent.'

I am not lone.

The Republican Party is not significantly different than the Democrats.
They're both only concerned with party first while the country falls apart.
