Third Rail Topics for Today:

Today's guest is Robert L. Schulz, aka Bob Schulz, Chairman of We The People Foundation.

I first became aware of Bob when I watched the documentary America: Freedom to Fascism. I was fortunate enough to meet Bob in April 2009 in Davenport, Iowa as he was crossing the country organizing a modern day Continental Congress 2009.

Bob's activities on behalf of Americans' freedoms and liberties are extensive and exhaustive. Whether it is the fifteen year history of Petitions for Redress of Grievances, suing Ben Bernanke and Henry Paulson over the AIG Bailout, publishing the Articles of Freedom- The Works of Continental Congress 2009, or bringing sunshine into the secret counting of our votes in elections nationwide with the National Clean Election Lawsuit, it is hard to keep up with all of the activity that Bob is pursuing with the help of supporters of his Constitutional education foundation.

On today's show we will discuss Bob's latest portrayal in the Oct 11, 2010 TIME Magazine article, "Locked and Loaded: The Secret World of Extreme Militias" and his response to the falsehoods and propaganda.

From Bob's letter:

Dear Editor:

I am featured in your cover article, written by Barton Gellman, though I cannot understand why. You have wholly mischaracterized me and the works of my Foundation, in order to shoehorn me into a piece that may work for TIME, but has no relevance to what Gellman and I discussed. The information I provided to Gellman, through more than six hours of face-to-face interviews, plus e-mails and written documentation, has been twisted and wholly taken out of context, rendering it inaccurate, misleading and libelous.

There are so many falsehoods in what was attributed to me that I cannot address them all in this letter. I will take them up with TIME management.

For the record, I have never advocated violence, I do not and have never belonged to any militia, nor do I communicate with militias or influence militias in any way that I am aware of. However, I do fully support the Constitution’s guarantee of well-regulated militias in every State. To quote the mandate of the second Amendment, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the Right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Therefore, the absence of well-regulated Militias in every State is repugnant to the constitution.

In addition we will be covering the October 24th Liberty Walk... from the website www.LibertyWalk.us:

On Sunday, October 24, 2010, nine days before the elections, Americans are being called to step into the streets to walk a mile together in a show of support for the nation’s founding documents, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution for the United States of America.

The national civic action will take place from 1-2pm in every time zone. Organizers are hoping to see millions of patriots from cities and towns across America – of all age groups – participate in the Liberty Walk. The purpose is to show how many supporters of the Constitution there are; to inspire the People to come together at the local level out of love for America, her Constitution and Freedom; and to encourage personal responsibility for ensuring that constitutional obedience, honor, honesty and integrity are returned to government at every level.
